Postdocs
We are always interested in discussing ideas and helping postdocs secure independent fellowships and research funds. Reach out if you would like to collaborate on fire-related research, especially if you would like to develop work related to combustion in microgravity, gas-phase diagnostics, and SciML. We welcome the opportunity to discuss potential applications to programs like NSF, USDA, Marie Curie, Human Frontiers, Life Science Research Foundation, etc. postdoctoral fellowship programs.

Graduate Students - PhD
Fire is a narrow field: a lack of prior experience in this research areas should not discourage a genuinely interested student with strong engineering knowledge from reaching out. We are primarily looking for motivated and talented people who are excited to engage in research and have a positive impact on the world. We currently have an opening for candidates interested in smoke and air quality, more details can be found here.
If the topic aligns with your interest and profile you can apply here to join the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, selecting me as a desired supervisor. Apply early: the deadline for Fall 202X is on December 1st 202(X-1).
Graduate Students - Masters
Master Students in Tandon have the opportunity to join the lab for one or two terms and receive credits through the Research Projects ME-GY 996X. Students can either develop their own topics, or join ongoing research activities. We then meet every 1-2 weeks while classes are in session to keep track of progress and guide the project direction. A final report and presentation is expected at the end of the term, and can form the basis for a publication or a conference presentation in case of exceptional achievements. Enrolled students with an interest in the Research Projects should reach out via email at a.guibaud@nyu.edu.
Undergraduate Students
NYU Tandon offers several undergraduate research opportunities, most notably the Undergraduate Summer Research Program (UGSRP), a 10-week paid program where students work with faculty on a research project. Students interested in shadowing existing research projects and contribute can also reach out via email at a.guibaud@nyu.edu.
